The curriculum emphasizes the impact of human factors on training accidents. The flight training component standardizes instructional methods for SFAR 73 flight training requirements, covering autorotation, power failures, low RPM recognition and recovery, and RPM control without using the governor.
The RHC Instructor Standardization Course is a five-day program that combines classroom instruction with approximately three hours of flight training conducted by an experienced RHC Safety Pilot. The ground curriculum covers both the R22 and R44 models, while the flight training is provided in either the R22 or the R44, making the course type-specific.
The course follows a "pass or fail" structure. Participants who satisfactorily complete the curriculum will receive a graduation certificate.

The course places a significant emphasis on safety and incident mitigation strategies, highlighting the importance of fundamental maneuvers, advanced procedures, and system failure responses to ensure instructors can effectively train others in both basic and advanced flying techniques. Additionally, in-depth instruction on Robinson helicopter design equips instructors with a thorough understanding of the aircraft they will be teaching others to fly.

How to Enroll
Course space is limited to eight pilots. To secure a place in the course, please complete the application. After completing the application, submit it along with tuition, copies of your pilot certificate (front and back, displaying helicopter rating), flight instructor certificate (front and back, displaying your helicopter rating), and government-issued identification.
The course fills several months in advance. If your preferred date is not available, you'll be scheduled for an alternative date. Formal confirmation will be sent via email. If you haven't received confirmation with a week, please contact the Course Administrator at courses@robinsonheli.com to verify receipt. Refrain from making travel arrangements until you receive a formal confirmation. Course dates are subject to cancellation if sufficient registrations are not attained.
Tuition
The course fee, which includes flight time, varies depending on your choice of helicopter to fly.
R22 = US $2,200.00
R44 = US $3,100.00
Robinson Cancellation Policy
Reservations and tuition are non-transferable. To reschedule, notify RHC at least two weeks before your course date to avoid an additional 50% tuition fee and to select a new class date. Cancellations made at least two weeks before your scheduled course date are eligible for a 90% refund. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made less than two weeks before the scheduled date, and no-shows forfeit their entire tuition.
